Orris
Infrastructures is optimistic about Gurgaon becoming a smart city
Gurgaon is all set to be included in
the list of smart cities as Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said
that the city will soon be the ‘smartest city’. Orris Infrastructure, among
other top builders of Gurgaon, are hopefully waiting for this change to be
brought about as it will open many new horizons for them. Mr. Vijay Gupta,
founder of Orris Builders, is confident that this change will significantly
further the prospects of Gugaon, the booming industrial hub of India.

Khattar addressed Nasscom Product
Conclave in Gurgaon and said that though Gurgaon is lagging behind Karnal and
Faridabad in the smart city race, but this ranking is not final and Gurgaon
would soon be on the top. Orris Infrastructures upholds a similar view and is
hopeful about Gurgaon being ranked above the other cities.
Khattar talked about Gurgaon’s lagging
behind partly because of its non inclusion in Jawahar Lal Nehru Urban Renewal
Mission (JNURM). According to the criteria laid by the Union Government,
inclusion in JNURM alone carried 20 points, and as a consequence Gurgaon
straight away lost on this parameter.
Mr. Gupta from Orris Infrastructure also said that they have been told that the state government has requested the
Central Government for a sum of Rs 100 crore to be given annually for the
development of Gurgaon as all smart cities are provided this. If Haryana
Government is provided this sum, Gurgaon will soon be a part of the smart
cities.
The Chief
Minister continued that the Central Government is considering this proposal. If
accepted, Haryana might have three smart cities instead of two. Even if it is
not accepted, then also the state government is committed to develop Gurgaon as
‘Smartest city’ because it is already a ‘smart city’.
